The Importance of a Good Telemarketing Script

Telemarketing agents should always use a well-planned script to make sure that any marketing campaign they handle will always result in a success.

In-house or outsourced telemarketing campaigns have one thing in common and that is the use of a well-thought out script. Whether it's consumers or businesses that are a target of a telemarketing campaign, a good script should be used in order to entice prospects and leads into gaining interest in purchasing a particular product or service.

Telemarketers that have a good script in hand are less likely to encounter complications and fillers during their calls. In addition, telemarketers that use a well planned script can answer any objection or rejection being brought upon by their client's prospects. This makes the chances of acquiring a business deal out of these prospects.

Let's take a look at two examples; one with a representative uses a script and one without. Let's first take a look at the one that does not use a script:

“Good day, this is (name) from... um... (company) we are providing... um... our clients with... uh...”

Seeing this, the credibility of the telemarketer is now in question for there are tons of fillers in between each sentence and words. This makes it harder to convince the prospect into formulating a business deal with your organization. Now, let's take a look at the one with the script.

“Good day, is this (business owner's name)? My name is (agent's name) and we are a company known as (company's name). We are currently conducting an optimization within our database, we would just like to confirm whether or not...”

Doesn't it sound so much better than the last one? Seeing and hearing this kind of speech being said by the representative makes the chances of doing business deals with their leads a bigger possibility to happen.
